OUR STORY
The idea for SOAK was born out of both love and resilience.
Moving to London from sunny South Africa was one of the hardest times of my life. I left behind family, friends, and a familiar way of life, diving headfirst into a new city and an intense legal career in corporate law. Working long hours, I found myself overwhelmed, homesick, and longing for a sense of comfort. My husband, who has been my constant support, knew how much I dreamed of owning my own business. After a particularly long day, he surprised me with a detailed presentation on why I should pursue my dream of opening a beauty salon and even gave it a name—SOAK. His belief in my vision lifted me from those difficult days and has been a source of strength every step of the way. For two years, I worked on bringing SOAK to life alongside my legal career, researching the market and waiting for the perfect opportunity. Today, I am grateful to share SOAK with you. My husband remains my biggest supporter, and together, we’re building a business that’s not just ours but a welcoming space for everyone in our community.
